Revitalizing Structural Integrity in Wandsworth, Greater London

Introduction:

At the heart of our recent undertaking lies a residence that beckoned for structural rejuvenation. Responding to your invitation for a quotation, our survey conducted on 05.09.2023 laid the groundwork for a meticulous repair proposal. The mission was clear: reinstate the structural integrity compromised by prevalent issues of cracking and bowing.

Front Elevation:

The focal point of our intervention was the Front Elevation, where visible signs of distress demanded tailored attention. We orchestrated a strategic dance of engineering prowess, introducing 2 No twin bands of Helibar 60 stainless steel bed joint reinforcing. These bands, positioned laterally to deftly distribute structural loads, were drilled back 350mm, resin bonded, and seamlessly integrated. Complementing this, 2 No single bands of Helibar 60 addressed existing cracks, drilled back 350mm, and became the unsung heroes of crack reinforcement. The integration of 2 No new timber noggins, enhancing structural robustness, and the installation of 5 No Helifix HD Bow ties further fortified the integrity. The ensemble was completed with the positioning and installation of 11 No Helifix Cem ties, a meticulous treatment of existing cracks, and the adept restoration of disturbed mortar areas.

Internal First Floor Bay Window:

Transitioning to the Internal First Floor Bay Window,

our meticulous approach persisted. Here, we replicated the success of Helibar 60 for crack reinforcement, repeating the drill-back and resin bonding process. Existing cracks received due attention through raking and injection with thixotropic cementitious grout. Our commitment extended to making good all areas of plasterwork disturbed by our installation.

Ground Floor Bay Window and Window Cill:

The final act unfolded at the Ground Floor Bay Window and Window Cill, an extra layer of dedication for comprehensive restoration. Tenacious Helifix Cem ties, standing at attention in precise positions, reinforced the structure. Simultaneously, the removal of loose concrete, strategic application of Natcem 35 concrete repair mortar, and careful raking and injection filled the canvas of meticulous craftsmanship. Restoration efforts embraced the entire area, ensuring a holistic revival.
