Overcoming subsidence problems
When foundation settlement has resulted in cracked or buckled walls, the Chance Helical Pile Foundation System, combined with the Helibeam System of Masonry Repair and Reinforcement, offers a technically superior and cost-effective alternative to more expensive, disruptive and time consuming methods of stabilisation that require extensive excavations.
Our engineers will assess the situation and design repairs based on individual ground conditions. ASRS will supply and rapidly install the systems.
Chance Pile
Following minimal excavations to the foot of the foundations at predetermined spacings, a notch is cut to support the pile bracket. The helical pile is then ‘screwed’ into the ground into stable subsoil until the required torque is achieved. Adjustable ‘L’ shaped brackets are fitted to the piles and under the foundations and jacked up to achieve the correct loading, preventing further settlement and transferring the weight of the building to the piles.
Helibeam System
To repair and reinforce the building structure, stitch cracks and spread the loads by forming masonry beams between the piles, stainless steel helical bars are bonded into channelled out mortar beds. This fully concealed non- Disruptive repair retains the existing brickwork and stabilises the masonry.
